About The Position

The System Director of Patient Safety will provide leadership for MLHS' patient safety, risk management, regulatory, and medical staff affairs programs, services and staff. The individual brings specific expertise in healthcare clinical and operational quality, patient safety and risk prevention, performance measurement and improvement, regulatory compliance, project management and strategic planning to the position. The director will assess, develop, coordinate and oversee the System's patient safety and risk management, clinical quality and regulatory affairs functions in order to ensure reliable clinical quality outcomes, prevention of adverse events, comprehensive risk identification, analysis, prevention and risk reduction strategies at all points of care across Main Line Health System. The Director will provide oversight to all Regulatory Affairs functions that ensure ongoing compliance with the PA Dept of Health and The Joint Commission accreditation requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership/management role in a healthcare environment with at least 3 years of experience in a quality, pt. safety and/or risk management role
  • 3 years of experience in regulatory affairs or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in risk management-related policies, procedures and practices especially as related to healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare-related field.
  • Master's degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred
  • Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or related discipline preferred
