About The Position

The System Director of Employee Health Services sets the direction, vision, planning, and implementation of policies and procedures to provide the highest level of employee health services and comply with government standards. Responsible for establishing best practices across the health system to deliver high quality, standardized services that meet the organizational needs. The Director facilitates communication and collaboration between all departments and senior leadership team.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative healthcare leader with experience overseeing multi-site operations and leading clinical teams. They possess strong analytical and financial acumen, leveraging data, metrics, and performance indicators to drive operational excellence and informed decision-making. Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and partner effectively across all levels of the organization.

This individual demonstrates sound independent judgment and executive-level discretion when navigating complex legal, clinical, and organizational matters. They are highly skilled at managing confidential employee health, disability, and workplace issues with professionalism, tact, and integrity. Additional expertise or certifications in Occupational Health, Employee Health, Case Management, Healthcare Quality, or a related specialty are highly valued.

Requirements

• Masters in Healthcare Administration or related field or advanced clinical degree.
• Current licensure as APRN in the State of Oklahoma with current specialty certification and BON Prescriptive Authority or current licensure as a Physician Assistant by Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
• Ability to analyze situations accurately to make reasoned decisions and adopt an effective course of action.
• Demonstrated patient care skills.
• Ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact, especially concerning difficult and sensitive issues when dealing with the needs, problems and or concerns of individuals to foster productive relationships.
• Understanding of healthcare delivery processes in a medical setting.
• Working knowledge of all applicable laws, accreditation standards, and occupational safety standards pursuant to healthcare operations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
• Working knowledge of Oklahoma Worker's Compensation Law.

Responsibilities

• Administers the daily operations of Employee Health Services (EHS) including but not limited to: managing the department operations, supervising activities of staff, assuring staff competency and compliance, developing and adhering to department budget, and monitoring utilization of resources.
• Manages Employee Health program services including but not limited to: pre-employment medical screening, fitness-for-duty physical examinations, immunizations, annual vaccinations, drug testing, first aid medical care for work-related injuries/illnesses, facets of workers' compensation case management and litigation, coordination of safety and prevention measures and compliance with federal and state occupational health requirements and standards.
• Partners and collaborates cross-functionally with external and internal departments including but not limited to: Infection Control Department, Oklahoma Department of Health, Compliance, Legal and Human Resources to develop procedures and protocols based on best practice standards and evidence-based practices while serving as a resource regarding employee health policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements new policies, functions, services and improvements to existing systems within the parameters of hospital-wide policies and procedures by analyzing effectiveness and efficiency of current operations, programs, and facilities.
• Participates in quality initiatives and safety functions.
• Remains informed and compliant with current Health System, OSHA, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Participates in development of long-range strategic plans and objectives.
