About The Position

Project LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Infrastructure for Over the Air software delivery Engineering (IOTA) team owns the software delivery to all Kuiper assets, such as satellites and ground stations, and their configurations. The systems we build serve a fundamental role in the successful operation of the satellite constellation, these systems need to have mission-critical reliability, uptime, and performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Support suite of software applications and services to update software on constellation of satellites on Ground and in orbit.
• High Impact production operations and issue triaging often require coordination between multiple Development, Product and Support teams.
• Streamline processes and automating them where applicable.
• Provide operations support with OTAs performed in Space, ensure quality of code delivered in new releases meet the bar for high performing OTAs in at launch pads, Space and during provisioning of satellites.
• Root causing and triaging issues, including executing the procedures to update software on Satellites during manufacturing, on ground labs and in orbit, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services.
