About The Position

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician leader with expertise in Otolaryngology for the System Chair, Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) position. This role, primarily based at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, offers a leadership opportunity within a growing Otolaryngology program focused on clinical and translational research and exceptional patient care. The Chair will collaborate with other leaders to develop and implement strategies and processes for patient care, ensuring adherence to all current and future standards of care for both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as necessary accreditations. A key responsibility includes overseeing research and development within the division and aligning these activities with AHN's broader objectives. The successful candidate will be appointed as the AHN System Chair for the Department of ENT.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Board-certified in otolaryngology
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved Otolaryngology Residency
  • Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong commitment to patient care and education

  • Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Contribute to research activity within the department, including investigator-initiated trials, cooperative group and industry-sponsored clinical trials, laboratory investigation, and publication of research findings
