Requirements

  • Two year certification from college or trade school or military training in an applicable discipline (mechanics, hydraulics, electronics) or Four years applicable experience in an applicable environment.
  • 5 years mechanical assembly experience applicable to MTS products.
  • Must understand and apply hydro-mechanical technologies: Hydraulic schematics, hydraulic flow characteristics, tube & hose sizing, proper sealing characteristics, basic structural integrity, quality and safety in designs.
  • Working knowledge of MTS Actuators and HPU's.
  • Ability to work multiple projects and/or multiple sub-projects within a single project.
  • Ability to lead small teams successfully and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Advanced Technical Skills: Ability to configure and integrate multi-level systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering, project management and customer objectives; determine options, risks and benefits and to decide whether to act or seek additional authority.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, install and repair MTS mechanical systems in house and at customer sites.
  • Assemble and configure mechanical systems according to engineering and manufacturing documentation.
  • Meet standards for quality, efficiency and schedule.
  • Interpret engineering documents to determine results and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair new and customer-owned mechanical test systems.
  • Disassemble and diagnose problems.
  • Develop solutions and resolve performance issues.
  • Estimate repair time and materials.
  • Collaborate to maintain accuracy of documents and records per MTS policies.
  • Initiate exchange of information on BOM, drawing and documentation corrections through appropriate processes.
  • Actively influence final documentation decisions.
  • Actively and accurately execute non-conforming materials process.
  • Develop techniques and collaborate in the development of manufacturing and repair processes.
  • Install and repair new and existing systems on customer site.
  • Exhibit professionalism on the job at MTS and at customer sites.
  • Behave in a respectful manner toward coworkers, engineers, supervisors and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, engineers, supervisors and customers.
  • Maintain knowledge and training in industry, technology and MTS products.
  • Participate in required training.
  • Provide training (as appropriate for responsibility level).
