System Administrator (Internal IT)

Resultant•Indianapolis, IN

About The Position

We are looking for a System Administrator to own the administration and integration of the platforms that run Resultant. This is a hands-on, senior-individual-contributor role on our Internal IT team. You will be the go-to administrator for our Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant, the owner of email flow and messaging security, and the system administrator for our business platforms, including ConnectWise, HubSpot, ADP, and NetSuite, and the integrations that tie them together. You will sit at the intersection of Accounting, Finance, Talent, Sales, and our critical Managed Services and Professional Services business. Much of the work is making systems behave the way the business needs them to: translating a request into the right configuration, understanding the downstream impact (financial reporting, access risk, compliance), and documenting it so the next person can support it. We are a lean team, so we want someone who automates first, documents as they go, and is comfortable owning an outcome end to end.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a System Administrator, M365 Administrator, or similar role supporting a multi-department organization.
  • Deep, hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Exchange Online.
  • Strong working knowledge of email flow and messaging security: DNS, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, transport rules, connectors, message trace, and Defender for Office 365 or a comparable gateway.
  • Experience with Azure administration, including RBAC, enterprise applications, and SSO configuration.
  • Experience administering a PSA or CRM platform, including roles, permissions, workflows, and integrations.
  • ConnectWise PSA (Manage) administration experience; exposure to ConnectWise RMM and ScreenConnect.
  • Ability to assess the business, financial, and security impact of a configuration change before making it.
  • Excellent written documentation and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Administration experience with HubSpot, ADP Workforce Now, and/or NetSuite.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator), or MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator).
  • Experience with Power Automate, REST APIs, or integration platforms.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar audits, and with Microsoft Purview retention and eDiscovery.
  • Tenant-to-tenant or mailbox migration experience, ideally supporting M&A integration.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or data warehouse tools (for example, Snowflake) for data pulls and reconciliation.
  • Experience in a consulting firm or managed services provider environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant: Entra ID users, groups, roles, administrative units, and E3/E5 licensing.
  • Own the identity lifecycle, automating onboarding, role changes, and offboarding from HR events.
  • Partner with Security on Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management, and least-privilege roles.
  • Manage SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams, including provisioning, external sharing, and governance.
  • Support our MDM compliance and configuration policies with heavy emphasis on Intune and a smaller subset of Macbooks using Mosyle.
  • Automate recurring tasks and reporting.
  • Own end-to-end mail flow: transport rules, connectors, domains, mailboxes, and groups.
  • Maintain SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and MX records, and safely retire legacy and acquired domains.
  • Administer Defender for Office 365 and Exchange Online Protection policies.
  • Serve as the escalation point for delivery issues using message trace, header analysis, and NDR diagnosis.
  • Manage email signatures, disclaimers, and banners across departments and brands.
  • Support Legal with retention, eDiscovery, and litigation holds in Microsoft Purview.
  • Administer Azure subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, and cost visibility.
  • Manage enterprise apps and app registrations, including SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM provisioning, secret rotation, and consent governance.
  • Support Azure automation (Automation accounts, Logic Apps, Functions) and Key Vault.
  • Serve as system administrator for ConnectWise PSA (Manage): security roles, members, service and project boards, statuses, workflow rules, and notifications.
  • Maintain company, location, department, and line-of-business structures in alignment with Finance so that time, projects, and agreements roll up correctly (for example, revenue vs. OpEx vs. strategic work).
  • Administer time and expense periods, timesheet approvals, project and agreement configuration, and internal project setup.
  • Evaluate permission requests for risk, recommend guardrails, and document business rules where the platform cannot enforce them.
  • Build custom reports and data pulls, and support ConnectWise integrations with our data warehouse and other systems.
  • Support RMM and ScreenConnect administration and permissions with the Managed Services team; open, track, and escalate vendor cases.
  • Administer access, roles, and configuration for HubSpot, ADP, NetSuite, and other SaaS platforms.
  • Own integration health across HRIS, identity, PSA, ERP, CRM, and data warehouse feeds, resolving sync failures and discrepancies.
  • Keep organizational data (departments, reporting lines, cost centers, client records) consistent across systems.
  • Partner with Finance, Talent, Sales Ops, and Data Warehouse teams on data, reporting, and process changes.
  • Automate manual work with Power Automate, PowerShell, and APIs, and build self-service options that reduce tickets.
  • Support our SOC 2 Type 2 program with audit evidence, access reviews, and change records.

Benefits

  • unlimited vacation
  • significant 401k contributions
  • several opportunities to develop yourself
