About The Position

Cortina Solutions is seeking a high-impact Mid-Level System Administrator (Network & Simulation Support) to support the execution of a complex contract supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). You must be ready to own your technical domain, managing network devices, interface controls, and routing/switching architectures that shape the future of naval warfare technology. The Mid-Level System Administrator provides technical network and infrastructure administration support for Department of the Navy information systems, ensuring continuous connectivity, high throughput, and operational readiness. This role focuses heavily on configuring and maintaining the robust simulation networks needed to support Modeling & Simulation (M&S) operations. Responsibilities include configuring network switches and routers, setting up and managing VLANs, managing interface control documentation, and executing approved configuration changes across the simulation environment. While network performance, routing stability, and uptime for active test events are the primary focus, the role also ensures systems meet necessary DOD and Navy security baselines by applying firmware updates, implementing network DISA STIGs, and maintaining required CSWF certifications.

Requirements

  • 3-7+ years of relevant civilian or military network and system administration experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant field of study (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Network-focused Computing Environment (CE) certification (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Juniper, or CompTIA Network+)
  • Strong hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting managed network switches, routers, VLAN structures, and routing protocols
  • Direct experience handling network interface controls and implementing network configuration changes within classified/unclassified lab environments
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Active DOD Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field of study
  • Direct experience working within or leading SWIL/HWIL environments, tactical systems, or Navy/DoD simulation and experimentation labs
  • Experience with multicast routing, network traffic analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark), or network monitoring software
  • Experience applying network-level DISA STIGs or managing access control lists (ACLs) in a secure DOD environment
  • Experience working within a DOD DevSecOps or Agile-based development environment
