About The Position

The CU College of Nursing has an opening for a 1.00 FTE Systems Administrator position. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of IT Operations and Data Management, this position supports core IT operations functions, with a focus on configuration, performance, and integrations. This position will also be a key collaborator for systems-related projects for innovation and efficiency. The ideal candidate is technically-minded, detail-oriented, and enjoys problem-solving. The successful candidate will be a team player focused on supporting the needs of the IT team, with the ability to balance a variety of tasks and prioritize goals, while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • One (1) year of experience providing hands-on support within Windows and MacOS.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in troubleshooting and imaging Windows and MacOS computers.
  • Experience in managing user group memberships and computers using Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM, Intune, Azure, and JAMF.
  • Experience in IT ticketing and asset tracking systems such as Zendesk, AssetPanda.
  • Experience troubleshooting IT business applications like Citrix, Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues for users, computers, and printers.
  • Basic experience in IT Healthcare systems like Epic, MiPACs, and Citrix.

Responsibilities

  • Configure Intune, SCCM, JAMF & Active Directory security groups.
  • Maintain Windows & MAC computer update schedules and progress.
  • Update and maintain the college's servers, OS, and applications.
  • Work with OIT on infrastructure, implementation, and communication projects.
  • Configure and manage security groups in Active Directory.
  • Provide business solutions and education to users to secure their data.
  • Attend IT Security meetings with OIT.
  • Act as a liaison between the college and OIT.
  • Follow up on outages to ensure business continuity.
  • Provide support to business applications like phones, E-fax, and Office 365.
  • Plan implementation of OIT/IT policies.
  • Follow up with vendors and OIT on reported projects and issues.
  • Act as an escalation point and backup to IT techs.
  • Answer IT support phone lines and tickets.
  • Train IT technicians on new system processes.
  • Communicate with the college about various IT-related messages and updates.
