About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on System Administrator with 3–5 years of relevant experience to help keep our systems secure, stable, and available. This role is responsible for day-to-day administration and operational support across servers, user access, endpoints, core business applications, and routine infrastructure maintenance. You will work closely with other IT team members, following established standards, maintenance schedules, and escalation paths to support uptime, employee productivity, and reliable IT operations. This is a support-and-maintenance role with meaningful system-level responsibility. You will troubleshoot incidents, perform routine changes, apply patches, manage standard access requests, verify backups, and maintain technical documentation. You may contribute ideas for automation or operational improvements, but you will not be expected to own overall architecture, long-range platform strategy, or major infrastructure design.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or a blended IT support/sysadmin role.
  • Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems in a business environment.
  • Experience supporting identity and access management in Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, LDAP, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and general switch/router/firewall concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, endpoints, user access, productivity tools, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience with patching, routine maintenance, monitoring, backups, and/or endpoint management.
  • Experience working in a ticketing environment and documenting changes, incidents, and procedures.
  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP in a support or administration capacity.
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Basic scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, RMM, or alerting tools.
  • Familiarity with backup platforms such as Veeam or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support Windows and/or Linux systems, core business platforms, and routine infrastructure components; perform provisioning, configuration, updates, and standard changes in line with established architecture and approved procedures.
  • Manage user lifecycle tasks, groups, permissions, shared resources, and standard access requests in Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, LDAP, or equivalent systems.
  • Review alerts, logs, and tickets; troubleshoot performance, availability, access, and connectivity issues; restore service where possible; and escalate higher-risk or cross-domain issues with clear notes and impact summaries.
  • Execute and verify scheduled backups, investigate failures, support restore testing, and follow documented recovery procedures.
  • Apply operating system and application patches, support baseline hardening, remediate routine findings, and follow security, least-privilege, and change-control practices.
  • Maintain runbooks, configuration records, inventories, knowledge-base articles, and change or incident documentation; coordinate with vendors and internal teams when needed.
  • Contribute to small operational improvements, maintenance efficiencies, and basic automation under the guidance of the Senior Systems Engineer or equivalent.
