Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of system administration, operating systems, or IT infrastructure support.
  • Familiarity with system updates, patching processes, configuration management, or system hardening concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support recurring maintenance schedules.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+) are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system administration support for enterprise and standalone servers across multiple operating system environments.
  • Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes to standalone systems within required timelines.
  • Implement system hardening requirements, including applying DISA STIGs, in accordance with published schedules.
  • Perform system configuration management actions and maintain accurate system documentation.
  • Conduct hands‑on maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate tickets when required.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly status updates summarizing completed and ongoing system maintenance activities.
  • Support secure system operations by coordinating with cybersecurity personnel and adhering to organizational security policies.
