About The Position

At APM Terminals, we are looking for a System Admin to help deliver a best-in-class on-premise engineering capability that supports our products and platforms. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor while providing hands-on infrastructure engineering expertise. You will work closely with product teams to ensure infrastructure, governance, security, and non-functional requirements are embedded into solutions from the start, enabling secure, reliable, and cost-efficient delivery of technology services.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and learning new technologies.
  • Experience supporting, administering, or engineering on-premise infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure governance, security controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of datacenter technologies and the principles required to deliver reliable and secure infrastructure services.
  • Ability to translate non-functional requirements into practical infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with product, platform, or engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to technical delivery and support.
  • Ability to balance reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency when designing and maintaining infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable on-premise infrastructure solutions.
  • Partner with product teams to provide infrastructure expertise and technical guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with established governance, security, and operational standards.
  • Engineer infrastructure solutions that meet non-functional requirements, including availability, performance, resilience, and scalability.
  • Deliver hands-on support for datacenter-based platforms and infrastructure components.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize infrastructure performance, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by promoting engineering best practices and helping teams adopt secure and sustainable solutions.
