About The Position

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Experimentation Lab (X-LAB), is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs. This position will act as the first line of defense for user level interactions and issues. The position will be primarily supporting users in person, secure phone, email or instant message (IM). This position will be customer facing, so refined customer service skills, in addition to IT skills is a must for this position. You must be comfortable with diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with remote users on a daily basis. This position will also support MDA flight tests and focus on the integration of the R&D systems into C2BMC and will contribute to other ongoing X-Lab projects as needed. This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite. This position may involve around 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S. Additionally, this position will occasionally support test events that occur off-hours i.e. overnight or on weekends.

Requirements

  • Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting
  • Must possess DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant certificate such as CompTIA Security+ CE or other certs such as CISSP or CASP. If you don't have the certification you must be able to obtain it within 90 days of starting.
  • Experience with system administration in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience supporting users in an enterprise-level system, demonstrating your ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with using a help desk ticketing system, such as Atlassian JIRA, for recording details of work performed and tracking information for future reference.
  • Ability to develop documentation including standard operating procedures (SOP) of complex technical solutions and procedures using enterprise tools such as Atlassian Confluence
  • Familiarity with a scripting language, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, and automation tools, such as Ansible.
  • Coding experience in an object-oriented language such as Java or Python is a plus
