About The Position

ASE is looking for a Systems Administrator, VI SME to work in Honolulu, HI. The Virtual Infrastructure (VI) System Administrator provides day-to-day system administration services and ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. This role manages over 300 Virtual Machines (VM) across four VM Operating Environments (VOE) and three different security classifications, working closely with various teams to ensure system and application operations and security. Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance.
IAW DoDM 8410.03, must meet Intermediate Proficiency level.
Must possess ONE of the following 8570 IAT-II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+ (Cybersecurity Analyst), GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification), Security+ CE, or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner).
Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
Must have at least three years of experience managing and supporting VMWare vCenter & Horizon View environments.
Must have experience securing systems and applications in accordance with Federal, DoD and customer regulations, directives, policies and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
Must have at least two years of experience managing Cisco UCS in a DoD environment.
Must have experience managing VMware NSX.
Must have experience managing Rubrik and Cohesity.
Must have experience managing VMware vSan, vCOPS, vRO, Aria, and ESXi in a DoD environment.
Must have experience managing Tintri and Pure storage.
Must have experience supporting Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) agents.
Must be “VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) 6 [or later]” certified in good standing.
Must be able to work occasional after-hours and weekend work, as required to support service outages.

Nice To Haves

BS degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution, preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintenance, installation, updating, and security of operating systems and applications, utilizing platforms like VMware vCenter, VMware Horizon View, and VMware ESXi, along with storage solutions such as Rubrik, Cohesity, and Pure Storage.
Maintaining Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
Managing DoD PKI requirements.
Ensuring all systems are integrated into the Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) architecture.
Monitoring security and performance logs.
Managing ServiceNow tickets.
Participating in technical meetings to provide expert recommendations.
Handling backup and restoration processes.
Supporting command exercises and inspections.
Managing the Continuity of Operations (COOP) for VOE systems.
Creating, maintaining, and updating VOE Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Providing monthly status reports detailing accomplishments, ongoing issues, and efforts requiring government action.
Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be necessary to support service outages.
Proactive approach to system management.
Strong collaboration with developers and cybersecurity staff to ensure a secure, efficient virtual infrastructure.
