About The Position

This position will be part of a team responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure that includes hardware, software, and cloud service provider components. This role will serve as a pivotal resource, driving implementation, and design services for other areas of the organization and its customers.

Requirements

  • Possess the ability to resolve complex issues using third party diagnostic and monitoring tools, logs, graphs, and performance data to maintain the health and availability of the environment.

  • Experience with Identity Management with products, such as Entra ID, OKTA and Ping Identity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and industry-standard computer software and databases.
  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.
  • Investigate and analyze problems to identify root causes and ensure timely resolution, escalating as necessary depending on criticality.
  • Design and implement system monitoring and performance optimization solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
  • Must have identification compliant with the Real ID Act at time of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Energy PIV badge.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Map the relationship between IT platform/Infrastructure components (i.e. Technology End Users, IT System Software & Hardware and info-Communications Transmission Networks).
  • Identify key technology interactions and dependencies across systems/platforms.
  • Investigate and analyze problems to identify root causes and ensure timely resolution.
  • Design and implement system monitoring and performance optimization solution.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Design documentation configuration baselining of systems, testing or modification of IT infrastructure.
  • Evaluate new solutions through research and collaboration and determine course of action for new technical initiatives.
  • Responsible for incident escalation and coordination of resources to resolve issues in a timely manner to meet Service Level Agreement metrics.
  • Support Disaster Recovery/Continuity of Operations (DR/COOP) exercises, testing and live incidents per procedures and policies.
  • Maintain security and integrity controls.
  • Prepare written technical documentation, training material, standards, and reports.
  • Evaluate and recommend procurements of Windows or Appliance based hardware and software.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership and return on investment of various IT platform/infrastructure alternatives.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
