System Administrator II - Edwards Airforce Base
About The Position
Step into a lead support role for the most visible flight research programs in the nation. This position provides dedicated systems oversight for advanced experimental airframes and autonomous research platforms. You aren't just managing servers; you are ensuring the digital reliability of aircraft that are making history at Edwards AFB. As a Level 2 SA, you act as the bridge between foundational support and complex systems engineering. You are expected to have a higher degree of autonomy and the ability to mentor junior staff while navigating the unique constraints of an active flight research environment.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Bachelor’s Degree is a Requirement
- 2-5 years of progressive System Administration experience.
- Strong proficiency in SCCM, automated deployment, Forest/Domain architecture, and system hardening.
- A proven track record of solving problems by leveraging technical communities, documentation, and modern diagnostic tools.
- Must reside within a 45-minute commute of Edwards AFB. No remote work; no relocation.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex Forest/Tree/Domain structures and advanced Group Policy implementations.
- Monitor and tune high-performance systems to achieve optimum levels for real-time data processing.
- Implement advanced encryption standards and automated maintenance schedules to protect sensitive program data.
- Develop and promote new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve team efficiency and compliance.
- Act as an escalation point for technical hurdles, utilizing deep-dive research and diagnostic tools to resolve "impossible" bugs.
