About The Position

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program. This program delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training/Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training from Squad through Echelon Above Brigade (EAB). As a Systems Administrator II, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by building and enabling the readiness of our Nation's Army. You will tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our customer, making meaningful contributions to challenging projects and growing a rewarding career.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
  • Technical expertise in systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices.
  • Experienced in configuring and maintaining networking hardware/software systems to include routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Superb communication skills; strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms on systems.
  • Ability to document and report on technical issues and solutions.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • IAT-II baseline certification IAW former DoDD 8570.01-M: Security+ CE.
  • Secret clearance required to start.
  • US Citizenship Required.

  • Military and MTC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • May serve as a technical team or task leader.
  • Provides technical support to individual training and small, medium and large collective training events / exercises in accordance with the established MTC training program.
  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of systems.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Deploy, configure and troubleshoot network devices (to include cables) for exercises, training events and/or special projects.
  • Configure and optimize systems to meet operational requirements.
  • Integrate various components and systems in an LVC environment.
  • Collaborate with other branches to ensure system compatibility and interoperability.
  • Implement and manage security policies and configurations.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations and changes.
  • Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  • Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel.
  • Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced system administrators.
  • Follows DoD Directives and Instructions 8140, 8570-01-M, Army regulations AR 25-2, NIST Special Publications 800-53, 800-39.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
