About The Position

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide Windows server support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in systems administration.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Must be Security+ certified.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Veritas Certified Specialist: VCS-282: Veritas NetBackup 9.1 Administrator; VCS-283: Veritas NetBackup 9.1 and NetBackup Appliance 4.1 Administrator; or VCS-326: Administration of Veritas Backup Exec 21 exam.
• Extensive experience with Veritas NetBackup, SAN attached storage, VADP (VMWare) and NDMP configurations, tape libraries, Windows and Linux operating systems, physical and virtual systems, and other enterprise level backup hardware/software.
• Experience with bare metal restores is required.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations.
• Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

• Develop backup and recovery plans, create/modify reports/processes/procedures, monitor system health, optimize system performance, proactively fix issues, identify and resolve network anomalies, conduct trends and analysis, and test/validate backups with quarterly restores.
• Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all servers and installed software.
• Notify appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC) for all accountable item moves.
• Bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.
