About The Position

Zions Bancorporation’s Capital Markets Analyst Program offers a unique 2-year experience to join a rapidly growing platform and team. The program is designed to maximize Analysts’ potential in their early professional years by providing foundational knowledge, skills, and experiences that will last a professional lifetime. Analysts will immediately take an active role within their chosen team, working alongside seasoned banking professionals to successfully meet the needs of our clients. Investment banking and securities underwriting activities are offered through Zions Direct, Inc., member FINRA / SIPC. Zions Capital Markets (“ZCM”) operates as a division of Zions Bancorporation and comprises five product areas that operate as a unified, national platform with deep regional expertise. Our teams collaborate to deliver targeted, client-driven solutions to help companies raise capital and execute strategic transactions efficiently and effectively. The five product areas are: Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Power & Project Finance, Real Estate Capital Markets, and Sales & Trading.

Requirements

  • Completed BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, and/or related majors, with a scheduled graduation prior to the annual June 7th start date.
  • Overall GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Strong interest in finance and capital markets.
  • High degree of academic and extracurricular achievement.
  • Proven analytical ability, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable working with peers at all levels, ranging from fellow analysts through Managing Directors.
  • Willingness to commit substantial time and energy to the program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update market comparables for syndicated loan transactions.
  • Perform financial and credit analysis, including cash flow modeling, credit metrics, covenant analysis and capital structure review.
  • Prepare transaction and marketing materials such as pitch books, lender presentations and term sheets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners, including relationship managers, legal and operations teams, to support transaction execution, closing and post-closing administration.
  • Support the distribution process, including lender outreach, tracking investor feedback and monitoring syndication progress.
  • Gain exposure to market trends, loan documentation, lender engagement and transaction execution.
  • Develop strong analytical, communication and project-management skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
