About The Position

The City of Jefferson is now accepting applications for Synchronized & Ice Skating Instructors for our Parks and Recreation Department at the Washington Park Ice Arena. These positions are paid by the hour, and the hours and days of the week vary based on the needs of the community.

Requirements

• Excellent ice skating skills.
• Availability and resources to travel to various competitions (Synchronized Instructors).
• First aid and CPR certification (preferred for Synchronized Instructors, required for Ice Skating/Hockey Instructors).
• At least 18 years of age (preferred for Synchronized Instructors).
• At least 16 years of age (preferred for Ice Skating/Hockey Instructors).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in synchronized ice skating required (Synchronized Instructors).
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in ISI skating program is strongly preferred (Ice Skating Instructors).
• Familiarity with ISI instructional programs (Ice Skating Instructors).
• ISI Freestyle 4 or equivalent in USFS preferred (Ice Skating Instructors).

Responsibilities

• Organize, choreograph and teach synchronized ice skating routines for teams of various age and ability levels.
• Organize and teach group ice skating lessons to various ages and ability levels including hockey skills.
