About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Sybase Database Administrator Engineer with over 10 years of strong hands-on experience in Sybase Database Administration, specifically with Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) and Sybase Transact-SQL. The role requires extensive experience supporting Sybase hosting in Linux environments, both on-premises and in AWS cloud. Key responsibilities include managing AutoSys scheduler, replication setup, high availability (HA), troubleshooting complex issues, performance debugging, role-based access control (RBAC), and encryption implementation. A significant part of the role involves performing Sybase database upgrades and migrations across different versions of Linux in AWS cloud environments. Automation experience using Unix Shell scripting and Python is crucial for automating database functions such as backup, monitoring, and configuration in AWS. This position requires hands-on experience with production support, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication, time management, and technical presentation abilities. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide consulting services to internal customers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ Years of strong Sybase Database Administration experience in Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) and Sybase Transact-SQL.
• 10+ Years of strong Hands-on experience of supporting Sybase hosting in Linux environments, on-premises and AWS cloud.
• Experience with AutoSys scheduler, replication set-up, HA (High availability), troubleshooting complex issue, performance de-bugging, role base access control (RBAC) and encryption implementation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sybase database upgrades and migrations of Sybase database on different versions of Linux in AWS cloud environments.
• Automation experience using Unix Shell scripting and Python.
• Strong experience to automate database functions of back-up, monitoring and configuration in cloud AWS.
• Hands-on experience with production support.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, time management, and technical presentation skills.
• Ability to successfully work on multiple projects at the same time.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong Sybase Database Administration experience in Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) and Sybase Transact-SQL.
