About The Position

Union Tank Car Company is seeking applicants for a Switchman at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Evanston, WY. to assist in various departments as needed by plant production. The Company’s regulatory, engineering and commercial expertise make UTLX the preferred source of railcars and services for many of its customers. Requirements

Have a high school diploma or GED
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently.
Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime.
Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.
Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training.
Must have valid Drivers License

Responsibilities

Operates locomotive to transport material and spot rail cars utilizing instructions from a switch list.
Regularly operates locomotive in a congested area and must use considerable caution to prevent damage to rail cars or accidents to employees.
Operates switches and directs flow of cars in rail yard.
Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.
