About The Position

Are you a skilled CDL driver who loves variety, solving puzzles, and keeping things moving? As a Swing Driver at GFL Environmental, no two days are the exact same! You’ll be our team's versatile go-to driver, stepping in to cover various collection routes—from Front End and Roll-Off to Residential trucks—and ensuring our communities stay clean, green, and running smoothly. Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate equipment and maneuver trucks into tight clearance spaces (including backing up 120+ feet using mirrors).
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, sitting ~75% of the day, and handling repetitive lifting/moving (frequently up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs).
• Flexibility to adapt to changing daily routes with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of trucks (both automatic and standard transmissions) across different collection routes as needed.
• Step in and seamlessly fill gaps for different routes, ensuring our customers always receive top-notch, reliable service.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections, complete daily truck reports, and keep all safety standards front and center.
• Promptly communicate mechanical issues to the maintenance team and keep your vehicle clean and well-maintained.
• Manage and guide route Helpers (when applicable) and help onboard or mentor newer drivers.
• Serve as a positive face of GFL, interacting professionally with customers and the public while out on the road.
