About The Position
Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a dedicated Swing Driver to join their team and deliver top-notch waste disposal and recycling services. Coastal Waste & Recycling is a growing privately owned, locally operated solid waste disposal and recycling company headquartered out of Boca Raton, Florida serving communities across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina (and more to come)! Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a CDL driver, preferably in the waste management industry
- Knowledge of local geography and road networks
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to operate and maintain waste collection vehicles and equipment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and operating heavy equipment
- Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time
- Able to sit in trailer cab for extended periods of time
Responsibilities
- Operate a waste collection vehicle along assigned routes to customers and disposal sites
- Deliver, transport and/or unload container with materials at designated locations/dump site
- Return container to original location
- Operate electronic devices to log/report information
- Communicate with dispatch personnel
- Report delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to management
- Reporting all container related issues and needs to dispatch and management
- Keep truck and associated equipment, clean, safe and in good working order
- Perform truck inspections pre and post trip
- Safely collect commercial waste/recyclable materials from designated locations
- Safely operate all vehicle controls for lifting and loading
- Safely operate compacters to dispose of material
- Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations
- Ensure that all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn
