About The Position

Flyway Farms LLC is hiring a Swine Technician to provide hands-on care for pigs in a modern swine production facility. The role supports animal health and welfare and daily farm operations, including care of breeding sows, farrowing and piglet care, monitoring pig health, maintaining clean facilities, and contributing to livestock production. Training is provided, and the position offers consistent schedules, paid overtime opportunities, and career growth.

Responsibilities

Learn and monitor pig health and well-being while providing daily animal care.
Ensure pigs have proper feed, fresh water, clear air, and a comfortable environment.
Assist with breeding, gestation, farrowing, piglet care, and other swine production activities.
Follow production protocols and procedures to support sow and gilt production and efficiency.
Administer vaccinations, medications, and health treatments according to protocols.
Monitor feed intake and adjust feeding programs as necessary.
Observe animal behavior, identify and promptly report concerns, and follow treatment protocols.
Assist with farrowing and newborn piglet care, including feeding and processing.
Assist with breeding activities, including artificial insemination and pregnancy checks.
Operate and maintain swine production equipment.
Maintain timely and accurate records of animal health, treatments, and performance.
Communicate effectively with employees and farm management.
Follow animal welfare and biosecurity regulations and company policies.
