About The Position
This individual is responsible for ensuring the health and care of the swine herd. Other duties include record keeping, supervising student employees, and performing maintenance on fences, buildings, and equipment. Good communication skills are essential for functioning efficiently and productively in this team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- High School degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related area
- Driver’s license
- Experience in a hog production facility
- Animal handling skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Communication skills
- Mechanical skills
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the health and care of the swine herd.
- Record keeping.
- Supervising student employees.
- Performing maintenance on fences, buildings, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed in all areas of the University Farm.
