About The Position

The Chickahominy Family YMCA is seeking a part-time, experienced swim team coach for our swim team. This position is responsible for providing workouts, instructions, motivation, and support to our swim team, with a focus on creating a safe and fun environment. The coach will serve as the primary coach on deck during team practices and is expected to lead practices 2-4 nights a week.

Requirements

• Current Professional CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
• YMCA/or American Red Cross Lifeguard/or Ellis certification.
• Ability to perform all four strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle).
• Strong sense of teamwork.
• Ability to collaborate with other coaches and team leaders.

Nice To Haves

• YMCA Swim Instructor or WSI certification.
• Current O2 certification.
• Competitive swimming experience.
• Experience coaching and managing team practices several days a week.

Responsibilities

• Providing workouts, instructions, motivation, and support to the swim team.
