About The Position
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and/or Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor provides safe and challenging classes according to YMCA and safety guidelines. The position is located at the Witham YMCA in Lebanon, Indiana, and is part-time, with 20 hours per week of free child care included among the listed benefits.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Demonstrate emotional maturity and judgment.
- Be able to swim, as determined by passing a swim test. The test includes completing the strokes the instructor will teach and treading water for at least two minutes.
- Possess or obtain HCP within 90 days of employment.
- Possess or obtain First Aid, Lifeguard, or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification within 90 days of employment.
- Hold a current Swim Lesson Certification from the YMCA or American Red Cross, or a Water Exercise Certification from the YMCA, Arthritis Foundation, or another listed provider.
Nice To Haves
- Experience leading group exercise is preferred.
