About The Position
Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools is hiring a part-time Swim Instructor to teach children ages 6 months to 12 years. The role focuses on teaching water safety and swim skills in a safe, fun, and encouraging environment. Instructors receive paid, hands-on training and learn the school's swim instruction methods while working with an experienced mentor. The position is active and involves being on your feet and in the pool. The set schedule includes evenings and weekends, with opportunities to pick up additional hours. The hourly pay range is $11.00 to $14.00, depending on experience, skills, and certifications. Entry-level team members start at the beginning of the range, with opportunities for pay increases based on growth, performance, and certifications. Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools operate in 12 states and have over 60 locations. Applicants are subject to a background check following a conditional offer. The company participates in E-Verify.
Requirements
- Love working with children and bring positive energy.
- Be reliable, safety-minded, and professional, with strong communication skills.
- Be able to work evenings and weekends on a set schedule.
- Be comfortable in the water and active on your feet.
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching or swim experience is a plus, but is not required; paid training is provided.
- Certifications may contribute to pay increases.
Responsibilities
- Train with an experienced mentor to learn the company's swim instruction methods.
- Teach weekly swim lessons and encourage students as they reach milestones.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and parents.
- Prioritize safety for everyone in and around the pool.
- Teach classes to children ages 6 months to 12 years.
