For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. We are searching for Swim Instructors. Dates are 5/6/26-6/10/26 on Wednesday's from 4pm-6pm at the Queensbury Elementary School Pool.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- American Red Cross life guarding; CPR for the Pro-Rescuer; Standard First Aid
- Less than 1 year of job related experience, specifically with people with developmental disabilities
Responsibilities
- Will provide instruction and supervision of aquatic lessons and activities.
- Assist client in and out of the pool
- Adhere to standard safety practices, as well as job, department and Center policies and procedures related to safety
- Assist clients in preparation for activities as needed, including transferring and putting on of floatation equipment
- Clean/maintain pool deck sanitation as directed by Queensbury School Pool protocol and in accordance with New York State Department of Health standards
- Participate in training and development activities in accordance with department and Agency policies
- Engage in pool set up and closing duties in accordance with Queensbury pool policy
- Attend meetings as scheduled by Department
- Notify supervisor of incident and complete Incident Reports when necessary
- Inspect all waterfront equipment and report any defects with recommendations for correction to supervisor
