At British Swim School, we teach fun swim lessons — but we are also serious about saving lives. The Swim Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and high-quality swim lessons while creating a positive and encouraging experience for swimmers and families. Instructors teach students of all ages using British Swim School’s fun, gentle, and progressive curriculum focused on water safety, survival skills, and confidence-building. This role is ideal for dependable, energetic individuals who enjoy working with children and families, thrive in a team-oriented environment, and take pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences. We are looking for team members who lead with positivity, professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or currently in the process of completion.
  • Comfortable in and around the water; strong swimming skills are a plus and can be developed through training.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow direction, receive feedback, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain required certifications throughout employment.
  • Must complete all required British Swim School aquatics training and testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children, coaching, teaching, customer service, or related service environments preferred.
  • Previous swimming experience preferred but not required.
  • Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and/or AED certifications preferred (may be obtained during training).
  • Previous experience delivering high-quality customer experiences strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach safe, engaging, and high-quality swim lessons in accordance with British Swim School curriculum and safety standards.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and confidence-building environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
  • Build strong relationships with swimmers, families, and team members through professional, solution-oriented communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to contribute positively to a team-focused, high-performing culture.
  • Maintain required certifications, complete ongoing training, and consistently follow operational and safety procedures.
