About The Position

The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) is seeking seasonal, part-time, and full-time Swim Instructors. This role involves providing group swim instruction to students of varying ages and abilities in both indoor and outdoor pools, with an emphasis on fun, water safety, and creating a positive learning environment. Year-round positions are available.

Requirements

Individual must have a dynamic personality. Enthusiastic, energetic, friendly & personable
Strong swimming background preferred
1+ years of experience being an aquatic instructor preferred
Excellent communication skills, customer service oriented commitment to fitness industry/environment
CPR/AED and First Aid Certified preferred
Lifeguard Training Certified or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required
Experience working with children up to 12 years old
Ability to multi-task
Must have the ability to inspire and motivate others with great people skills
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, with good time management and great follow-up skills
Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

Strong swimming background
1+ years of experience being an aquatic instructor
CPR/AED and First Aid Certified
Lifeguard Training Certified or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

Provide swim instructions to various levels and age groups and help improve overall skillset and technique
Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levels
Plan lessons, select appropriate drills and evaluate the student’s progress
Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze, evaluate and correct performance, minimize fear and use appropriate teaching devices
Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment. Create an atmosphere where the student loves swimming and the water
