About The Position

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year. The Swim Instructor will lead Learn to Swim private & group lessons for participants ages 3 through adult. They will help develop water safety awareness amongst program participants & parents, and assist in the progressive development of swimmers based on their individual goals. The role requires recognizing and responding effectively and efficiently to emergencies, responding to participant questions and comments, and providing excellent customer service to all Ritchie Center guests. The instructor will also maintain a general knowledge of programs taking place in the pool area. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 year of age.
Current/previous American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification (classes offered through the Ritchie Center throughout the year).

Nice To Haves

Previous swim instructor experience.
High School diploma & some college experience.
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard or WSI Certification.

Responsibilities
