As a Swim Instructor, you will follow YUSA established lesson plans, understand stroke progression, and implement the Core Values into lesson plans. You will communicate with families regularly about program information and their child's progression in swimming, complete swim assessments, evaluations, and certificates of completion, and identify and correct incorrect swimming techniques. You will also adjust teaching techniques according to swimmer's needs, maintain tracking of class attendance, and ensure participants are released to caretakers. Additionally, you will provide exceptional customer service, foster connections with members, participate in and complete in-service trainings, and create a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all members and guests. You will work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a staff team, ensure building, grounds, and equipment are in working order, and report any concerns. Maintaining certifications and taking advantage of professional growth opportunities is also part of the role. You will support the annual campaign process, including educating members, and understand your role as a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse, reporting and responding to situations in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensuring the safety of children in facilities and programs and that proper supervision is provided is paramount.
