About The Position

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year. Essential Functions Lead Learn to Swim private & group lessons for participants ages 3 through adult. Help develop water safety awareness amongst program participants & parents. Assist in the progressive development of swimmers based on their individual goals. Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies. Respond to participant questions and comments. Provide excellent customer service to all Ritchie Center guests. Maintain a general knowledge of programs taking place in the pool area. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 year of age.
  • Current/previous American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification (classes offered through the Ritchie Center throughout the year).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous swim instructor experience.
  • High School diploma & some college experience.
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard or WSI Certification.
