As a Swim Instructor, you will follow YUSA established lesson plans, understand stroke progression, and implement the Core Values into lesson plans. You will communicate with families regularly about program information and their child's progression in swimming, complete swim assessments, evaluations, and certificates of completion, and identify incorrect swimming techniques while providing correction. You will also adjust teaching techniques according to swimmer's needs, maintain tracking of class attendance, and ensure participants are released to caretakers. The role involves providing exceptional customer service, fostering connections with members, and participating in and satisfactorily completing in-service trainings. You will create a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all members and guests, work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a staff team, and ensure building, grounds, and equipment are in working order, reporting any concerns. Maintaining certifications and taking advantage of professional growth opportunities is also key. You will support the annual campaign process, including educating members, and understand your role as a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse, responding to situations in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensuring the safety of children in facilities and programs and that proper supervision is provided is paramount.
