About The Position

We are looking for a year-round daytime, weeknight, and weekend instructor with leadership opportunities available within the first 3-6 months. This role offers a schedule that works for you, whether you prefer consistent daytime hours, flexible evenings and weekends, or a set schedule each week. At Goldfish Swim School, we change lives by helping children reach their goals. We practice our core values and reward hard work. We offer paid training and a set weekly schedule with shifts designed for people who want steady hours without late nights. Weekday lessons end at 8:00 PM, and weekend lessons are during daytime hours. This position offers valuable work experience with children and families, social opportunities, and future references/referrals. Free swim lessons are available for children and siblings.

Requirements

• Ability to work with children.
• Strong communication and organizational skills - A Golden personality.
• Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training and work scheduled shifts as a lifeguard.
• Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating curriculum skills and performing in-water rescues if necessary).
• Noise level is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• Evaluate students’ progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills.
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
• Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment.
• Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons.
• Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion.
• Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
• Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer.
