About The Position

This position involves coaching swimming at the high school or college level. The coach will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. The role requires a strong understanding of swim strategy, practice planning, and team objectives, while also embodying the character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring. The coach will represent Shrine Catholic High School and is expected to be a model of sportsmanship and ethical conduct. Additionally, the coach will support the growth of student athletes in virtue, discipleship, and faith, and may assist in summer camps and off-season workouts.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Minimum of three years swim coaching experience at the high school or college level.
• Proof of First Aid and CPR certification prior to first day of coaching.
• Certificate of completion for online concussion training course (CDC or NFHS) prior to first day of coaching.
• MHSAA CAP 1 or 2 Certification.
• Current lifeguard certification.
• Broad knowledge base of swim specific strategy, practice planning and team objectives.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
• Ability to demonstrate the character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring when interacting with staff, students, and community members.
• In-depth knowledge of the game, contest rules and MHSAA regulations.
• Experienced and proficient in teaching and developing basketball skills and fundamentals.
• Strong communication, leadership, motivational and team-building skills.
• Be a model of sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
• Willing to assist in summer camps and off-season workouts.
• Strong communication and supervisory skills.
• Motivated to help build the Basketball Program.
• Support the growth of the student athletes in virtue, discipleship and living the faith.
• MHSAA CAP Certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Protecting God's Children certification.
