About The Position

Under the direction of the Head Swim Coach, the Swim Coach is responsible for high quality programs, customer service and participant engagement. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out the Purpose and Values of Greater Midland.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with a swim team
  • CPR/First Aid/AED
  • Lifeguard Certification
  • Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise athletes to promote effective student learning through participation in athletic activities.
  • Hold self, athletes, and coaches accountable to the Code of Conduct expectations.
  • Plan, develop and implement an effective program for the identified sport to prepare athletes both physically and mentally to participate with confidence and self-assurance in athletic contests.
  • Ensure compliance with Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP)/SafeSport expectations and renewal as required.
  • Prepare and follow workouts for each team.
  • Follow and enforce all pool rules, policies, processes and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, positively and professionally with athletes, parents, officials and school administrators.
  • Complete coach’s report following all practices and meets to ensure accurate and timely communication regarding safety, behavior concerns, etc.
  • Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of departments and center goals and objectives.
  • Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
