About The Position

Chenega & NASA is seeking a SWAT Security Police Officer to join an elite tactical security team at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, FL. This highly specialized armed role supports critical incident response, tactical operations, emergency preparedness, and federal law enforcement responsibilities in support of NASA's mission and security operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and be eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Must successfully complete required NASA training, tactical training, ICS certifications, physical agility testing, psychological evaluations, and ongoing physical fitness requirements.
  • Must maintain advanced firearms qualifications and meet all NASA and SWAT weapons proficiency standards.
  • Must pass background investigations, drug and alcohol testing requirements, have no disqualifying criminal history, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of military, law enforcement, or related security experience.
  • Honorably discharged military service (if applicable).
  • Prior completion of an NTOA Basic Tactical Course or equivalent recognized tactical training.
  • Experience operating in SWAT, tactical response, emergency response, or special operations environments.
  • Previous training or experience meeting rigorous physical fitness and advanced weapons qualification standards

Responsibilities

  • Respond to high-risk security and law enforcement incidents, including active shooter events, hostage situations, barricaded subjects, workplace violence, and other critical emergencies.
  • Participate in ongoing tactical, weapons, endurance, and scenario-based training while maintaining required physical fitness, certifications, and firearms qualification standards.
  • Perform armed security functions including patrols, access control, inspections, traffic control, and protection of NASA personnel, facilities, equipment, and property.
  • Enforce NASA regulations, federal laws, post orders, and security procedures while exercising law enforcement authority as required.
  • Maintain operational readiness by being available for emergency callouts, disaster response, rotating schedules, and 24/7 recall requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, government personnel, and the public while preparing for and executing tactical missions and security operations.
