About The Position
Language Trainers is an international language training company seeking a freelance Swahili Teacher for a client in Washington, D.C. The role involves providing one-to-one general Swahili training for a student aged 56-64. The course consists of 10 total hours, with sessions lasting two hours each. The student's motivation for learning Swahili is for an upcoming trip to Tanzania, which includes volunteer work, a Kilimanjaro Trek, and a Safari. The goal is to acquire basic day-to-day Swahili skills.
Requirements
- Native Swahili speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter.
- Have a valid work permit/visa.
- Live within 20 miles of Washington, D.C. (20003).
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one general Swahili training.
- Conduct two-hour sessions.
- Adapt teaching to the student's motivation for travel and volunteer work in Tanzania.
