About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled SW Web Developer to support a federal healthcare environment by designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise database systems and related web technologies. This role is responsible for administering SQL and Oracle databases, developing database solutions, optimizing system performance, and ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of mission-critical data. As a member of the Information Technology team, you will collaborate with system administrators, developers, healthcare professionals, and government stakeholders to support database infrastructure, web integration initiatives, and technical modernization efforts. You will also serve as a technical liaison between Keesler Medical Center and the Defense Health Agency to ensure successful implementation of database and web-based solutions. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust clearance. This position is onsite at Keesler Medical Center, Biloxi, MS

Requirements

  • Active Security+ certification (minimum requirement).
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience administering SQL and Oracle databases in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience developing scripts or applications using one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, or Java.
  • Experience with database security, performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Experience performing database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Knowledge of GOTS and COTS software environments.
  • Experience integrating databases with enterprise applications and web technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle Database certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Database Administration, or a related technical field.
  • Experience supporting healthcare information systems or federal government IT environments.
  • Experience with web development and web application integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain web applications and interfaces for 81 MDG Intranet to include management of access, security, and privilege level requirements.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Internet and Intranet services including scripts and support programs for web integration.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and modify legacy applications and scripts for the 81 MDG Intranet to maintain/improve functionality.
  • Develop, test, and maintain applications across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Test websites and web interfaces, repair bugs/errors, and develop and document workarounds.
  • Analyze resources and processes to recommend improvements/solutions.
  • Participate in and coordinate development and integration of subordinate hospital unit functions into Internet/Intranet applications.
  • Provide technical liaison between 81 MDG and Defense Health Agency for Web page development, implementation, and issues.
  • Use scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, computer skills, applications, and digital media.
  • Interface with internal customers regarding their support needs, status updates, and all other aspects of planning.
  • Manage user access and permissions to network folders and web applications.
  • Participate in the development of systems in support of customer needs.
  • Provide input and create solutions to address issues or gaps in design.
  • Create and update website pages, including preparing content for web pages, reports, and other outlets.
  • Produce complete and accurate content for web publishing by formatting content, reviewing content, and inserting images and files.
  • Participate in the testing and installation of modifications and upgrades to hospital kiosks.
  • Image and deploy new kiosks.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documents for continuity purposes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the group on policies and procedures for the ServiceNow Ticketing System.
  • Assist in database support activities and functions.
  • Provide production database administration and support integration with development members during the application development lifecycle.
  • Assist with Data ETL from multiple formats for database consumption, including, but not limited to, xls, pdf, doc, csv, txt, and others.
  • Develop and implement application and data store for storage and preservation, including implementation of requirements and specifications, coding, testing, assessing application usability, assessing performance, and preparing written documentation to industry best practice documentation.
