About The Position

As a software engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for development throughout the entire software lifecycle. This role is part of the GDMS Pittsfield, Massachusetts Engineering Team. Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Strong understanding of software development process, as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Creative thinker capable of applying new information quickly to solve challenging problems
Comfortable providing technical leadership

Real-time embedded development
Proficient in C/C++
Linux experience at the User or Administrator Level
Network switches
Kubernetes/Docker/Containerization
Experience with collaborative source control (ex. Synergy, GitLab)
Experience with software requirements and documentation (i.e. Design, Development, and Test Documents and Diagrams)
A proven track record of being an inquisitive, self-motiviated engineer that is motivated by solving tough problems
Capable of working in a collaborative environment and communicating technical concepts
