In this role, you will contribute to the development of scalable, modern platforms that power critical business services and support our continued evolution in cloud-based technologies. Our team focuses on building reliable and efficient systems that enable seamless data exchange across distributed environments. You’ll work on solutions designed for high performance, resilience, and scalability, helping ensure consistent and dependable system operations. As part of this team, you’ll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle while collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality solutions. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working across different layers of the stack, and building systems that are robust, scalable, and impactful.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong desire to learn and work across a broad technical landscape
  • Experience working in Linux or macOS environments
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Go)
  • Strong understanding of data structures, system design, and distributed system fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
  • Exposure to Kubernetes and Docker containerized applications
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably GCP)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Golang in a production or open-source environment
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems or data pipelines
  • Familiarity with message streaming systems (e.g., Redpanda, Kafka)
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases (e.g., CouchDB)
  • Understanding of Pub/Sub messaging architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing) such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Fluentbit
  • Experience ensuring data durability, consistency, and recovery during failures
  • Professional experience working with Bazel (or other build systems like make)
  • Experience with Kubernetes CRDs or custom controllers
  • Strong experience debugging cross-system data flow issues
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity using (or contributing to) open-source projects
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (including agile, iterative, and other modern approaches to software development)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
  • Ability to estimate work effort for stories and epics, and ensure the milestones are successfully completed
  • Ability to guide and advise on best practices for architecture and design based on previous experience
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
  • Knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practice

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate systems enabling reliable data synchronization (cloud ↔ edge)
  • Develop services and components in Golang to support highly available, fault-tolerant data pipelines
  • Work with technologies such as CouchDB, Redpanda, and GCP Pub/Sub topics to enable scalable data movement
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and developer tooling via GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, or similar technologies.
  • Contribute to internal tooling and development for replication and encryption services.
  • Own problems end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues such as network failures, data inconsistencies, and distributed system edge cases
  • Improve system reliability, observability, scalability, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data services across the platform
  • Automate API validation, testing, and debugging
  • Uphold engineering best practices and continuously improve team processes
