About The Position

The SVP Senior Wealth Advisor is responsible for identifying and soliciting investment and wealth management business from existing clients and potential clients. This role focuses on high net worth individuals, institutions such as cities and towns, and not-for-profit entities. The position requires producing revenue to meet published annual performance goals and involves building and implementing a referral network. Regular client meetings are necessary to update financial plans and respond to client needs. The role also requires maintaining knowledge of market conditions, new products, services, and tax law changes, and utilizing software for financial planning. Networking with banking partners and participating in community affairs are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • College education
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Major in Business, Finance, or Investments
  • 5-7 years of experience in wealth management, trust, or private banking, including business development.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful sales/service performance in the investment services business and specifically the high net worth or institutional markets.
  • Ability to motivate people and communicate effectively through excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced investment and / or planning designations such as CTFA, CFP or the ability to obtain within 12 months.

  • An understanding of trust law and its application to clients is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and solicits investment and wealth management business from existing clients and potential clients through advertising campaigns, mailing lists, and referrals.
  • Focuses on high net worth individuals, institutions such as cities and towns, and not-for-profit entities.
  • Produces revenue from this activity to meet expectation of published annual performance goals.
  • Generates new revenue for NHTrust by building and implementing a referral network inside and outside our banks.
  • Meets with existing and assigned clients on a regular basis to update financial plans and respond to client needs.
  • Meets with prospective clients to determine financial and insurance needs, complete formal financial plans, recommends investment/insurance strategies, and presents appropriate investment/insurance options.
  • Involves NHTrust executives as needed in the case of more complex client needs.
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of current market conditions, new products, services, and tax law changes within the financial services industry.
  • Maintains a full working knowledge of various software packages to produce financial planning information for clients.
  • Schedules and conducts client meetings covering topics such as financial and/or investment planning, estate planning, retirement planning and education planning.
  • Ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and requirements of NHTrust wealth management and New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp.
  • Networks with banking partners to build referral sources and deepen partnership within the organization.
  • Works with senior management to develop, implement and achieve/exceed goals as set forth in the bank’s annual business plan.
  • Represents NHTrust and affiliates by participating in community affairs, clubs and organizations to assess the needs of the community, enhance the bank’s visibility and increase new business opportunities.
  • Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
