About The Position

Claravine is The Data Standards Company®, helping the world's largest brands and agencies standardize taxonomies, naming conventions, and metadata across digital experiences at the source of data creation. A quarter of the Fortune 100 trust The Data Standards Cloud™ to define, apply, and connect standards across their marketing ecosystem. Customers are enterprise marketing and analytics teams at global brands spending over $50M annually on advertising, who rely on clean, consistent data for critical decisions. Claravine is backed by growth equity investors and seeks a marketing leader to amplify its market presence. This is a category-building role, not solely focused on demand generation. The SVP of Marketing will define a category, acting as a thought leader and executive presence, as well as an operator. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), the role sits at the executive table and is accountable for pipeline, revenue, and market position, leading a lean, AI-powered team with the credibility of serving sophisticated marketing organizations.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology marketing.
  • 4+ years in VP, SVP, or CMO roles leading the entire Marketing function.
  • Proven success building category narrative and thought leadership for companies selling to enterprise marketing leaders (CMO, VP Marketing, marketing analytics, marketing technology).
  • Demonstrated ownership of pipeline and revenue targets with specific, quantified results.
  • Experience running or closely supporting 6-12 month enterprise sales cycles with minimum six-figure ASPs.
  • Record of leading lean teams of 5–15, multiplying output effectively.
  • Hands-on use of AI that has demonstrably changed marketing organization operations.
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with an authoritative presence with executive buyers.

  • Deep understanding of marketing data, analytics, and measurement, including firsthand experience with the pain points of bad data.
  • Strong relationships within the enterprise marketing technology ecosystem, including analysts, trade press, marketing technology vendors, and industry organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Own Claravine's positioning as The Data Standards Company® and expand the category narrative.
  • Serve as Claravine's voice on keynote stages, in industry publications, analyst briefings, executive panels, and podcasts.
  • Build and optimize competitive positioning to support Sales and Customer Success.
  • Manage relationships with analysts (Gartner, Forrester, IDC) to ensure positive market research positioning.
  • Own marketing's contribution to pipeline with clear attribution, targets, and accountability.
  • Design and execute an enterprise ABM program targeting Global 2000 accounts spending $50M+ on advertising.
  • Drive demand through content, events, digital marketing, partner co-marketing, and direct outreach, focusing on enterprise ACV conversion.
  • Elevate full-funnel reporting and attribution for the board, CRO, and CEO.
  • Lead product marketing efforts including messaging, positioning, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, and launch strategy.
  • Translate data standards and taxonomy management into business value stories for marketing buyers.
  • Develop pricing and packaging recommendations with product and finance teams.
  • Build and maintain a sales and expansion enablement library to improve win rates and ACV.
  • Run a content strategy to build awareness, trust, and inbound demand across the enterprise buyer journey.
  • Commission and create authoritative research, benchmarks, and frameworks to establish Claravine as a definitive source on marketing data standards.
  • Build customer advocacy through case studies, references, advisory boards, and executive roundtables.
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of 5-10 across product marketing, demand generation, content, xEO, and contractors.
  • Own the marketing budget and P&L, ensuring ROI on all expenditures.
  • Utilize AI-powered workflows and tools to maximize team output and plan for expansion.
  • Establish reporting cadence and dashboards to maintain marketing visibility and trust with the executive team.
