$250,000 - $275,000Hybrid

About The Position

Equativ is seeking an SVP, National Sales to lead and expand its U.S. national sales organization across New York, Chicago (mid-market), and the West Coast. The ideal candidate is a sales leader with expertise in programmatic advertising, strong relationships with major holding companies and independent agencies, a proven history of revenue growth and new business acquisition, and exceptional people leadership skills. This role requires a hands-on leader who can stay connected to the market and the team, shaping the strategy for national sales operations, competition, and success. Externally, this individual will represent Equativ's national sales efforts, engaging senior agency decision-makers and identifying new opportunities. Internally, they will build and manage the team, establish consistency across regions, coach leaders and representatives, and enhance organizational efficiency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Significant sales and sales leadership experience in programmatic advertising, ad tech, digital media, or a closely related field.
  • A strong track record of revenue growth, new logo acquisition, and new business development.
  • Deep, established relationships across major holding companies and independent agencies, with credibility to engage senior decision-makers directly.
  • A history of turning relationships into new opportunities, not just maintaining an existing network.
  • Experience leading quota-carrying sales teams across multiple markets or regions, managing against ambitious targets.
  • Strong command of pipeline, forecasting, conversion, and productivity metrics.
  • A track record of improving sales team operations through coaching, process, accountability, or organizational change.
  • Strong people leadership and emotional intelligence: ability to listen, build trust, read people well, and maximize team potential.
  • A leadership style that is grounded and accessible, yet direct and decisive when necessary.
  • Ability to challenge an experienced team while bringing them along.
  • Genuine curiosity about how technology, AI, and shifts in the advertising ecosystem create new opportunities.
  • Based in the New York City area.
  • Comfortable working hybrid.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Chicago, West Coast, and Canada markets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the North American national sales team across New York, Chicago/mid-market, West Coast, and Canada, setting clear priorities and creating alignment on growth strategies.
  • Build a strong, performance-driven culture with clear expectations, support, and accountability.
  • Coach and develop sales leaders and individual contributors across all regions, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for growth.
  • Build trust with the team while challenging individuals, asking tough questions, and having direct conversations when necessary.
  • Create a consistent operating rhythm for pipeline reviews, forecasting, account planning, performance conversations, and business reviews.
  • Evaluate current team operations and identify opportunities for improved focus, execution, and performance.
  • Own national sales performance and deliver against ambitious revenue and new-business goals across all regions.
  • Stay connected to the market, actively participating in opening doors, building relationships, and creating new opportunities.
  • Deepen relationships with major holding companies, independent agencies, and brands, engaging senior decision-makers directly.
  • Translate relationships into commercial outcomes and long-term revenue.
  • Identify untapped opportunities within accounts, agencies, and regions, particularly in the mid-market and West Coast.
  • Maintain a focus on net-new business and prospecting while continuing to grow existing accounts.
  • Build a clear operating rhythm around pipeline, forecasting, quotas, activity, and results, ensuring consistency across regions while accommodating regional differences.
  • Establish metrics for clear and honest performance evaluation for the team and leadership.
  • Utilize data to understand performance, identify deal blockages, and guide team adjustments.
  • Implement accountability and discipline in the sales process without adding unnecessary complexity.
  • Collaborate with leadership on coverage, territories, goals, incentives, and resource allocation for key opportunities.
  • Introduce new ideas and challenge traditional approaches.
  • Encourage the team to think differently about prospecting, client engagement, storytelling, and new business development.
  • Stay informed about shifts in programmatic advertising, agencies, media buying, and the ad tech landscape.
  • Identify practical applications of AI to enhance the sales organization's effectiveness in prospecting, account intelligence, preparation, and client engagement.
  • Educate the team on how AI and other technological shifts are impacting client media buying.
  • Partner with Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and Client Services while maintaining clear ownership of National Sales.
