About The Position

BGB Group is a healthcare communications agency that offers a wide range of services, including traditional pharmaceutical advertising, promotional medical education, payer marketing, and consulting services. Known for excellence and professionalism, we’re hired as strategic and creative partners by our biopharmaceutical clients to drive category/brand awareness and growth. We are seeking an exceptional SVP, Medical Strategy to lead the scientific and medical vision behind BGB’s new business, pitch, and growth-focused initiatives . This senior medical leader will shape the scientific narrative that anchors our pitch strategy, bringing clarity, credibility, and strategic insight to every new business opportunity. The SVP will leverage deep therapeutic expertise and exceptional storytelling abilities to translate complex science into compelling, strategically aligned narratives that differentiate BGB and inspire prospective clients. As a key member of pitch leadership, this role will partner closely with Creative, Brand Strategy, Engagement Strategy, Account Management, and Business Development to deliver integrated scientific thinking across all pitch and early-client engagements. The SVP, Medical Strategy will also serve as a scientific ambassador for the agency, modeling excellence and elevating medical strategy capabilities across teams.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in medical strategy, scientific affairs, medical communications, or related areas, ideally within a healthcare communications agency.
  • Demonstrated experience leading medical strategy for pitches or new business efforts at a senior level.
  • Advanced scientific degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent).
  • Deep expertise across therapeutic categories, clinical landscapes, and regulatory considerations.
  • Exceptional ability to translate scientific complexity into compelling, accessible strategic narratives.
  • Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills, especially in high-stakes pitch environments.
  • Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing medical strategy teams.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across creative, strategic, and operational functions.
  • Analytical, intellectually curious, solutions-oriented.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and high expectations.
