About The Position

The corporate office of Express Employment International is seeking a transformative technology executive to serve as SVP of Information Technology; an enterprise leader who will redefine how technology fuels our growth, sharpens our competitive edge, and elevates how the business operates every day. In this role you will set the multi-year technology vision, orchestrate large-scale IT transformation, and ensure our architecture, engineering practices, and modern infrastructure capabilities are deliberately aligned to business strategy and operating realities for a headquarters organization that enables a large franchise network. Success means technology becomes a true accelerator of speed, resilience, innovation, and customer impact, while elevating franchisee performance, consistency, and satisfaction, and building the leadership bench and partner ecosystem required to sustain that advantage. If you excel at the intersection of strategy, transformation, and enterprise-scale execution, and you are energized by the challenge of elevating both the performance and the perception of technology across a franchise business-model organization, you will find an opportunity to make meaningful enterprise-wide impact here. Express Employment International believes in the value of in-person collaboration to support teamwork, creativity and connection. Employees in this position are expected to work a four (4) day in-office schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely one (1) day each week, based on business and department needs.

  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with at least 7–10 years in senior executive roles (VP or above) within complex, multi-unit, or enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology strategy, architecture, and large-scale IT transformation that delivered measurable business outcomes
  • Proven experience aligning technology investments and capabilities to business strategy in a headquarters or shared-services model that supports a distributed network (franchise, multi-unit retail, hospitality, or similar strongly preferred)
  • Track record of modernizing infrastructure, engineering practices, and operating models (cloud, platform engineering, product/platform ways of working)
  • Experience owning or heavily influencing technology financial strategy, capital allocation, and vendor/partner ecosystem decisions at enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing technology leadership teams and strengthen succession pipelines
  • Deep understanding of enterprise technology strategy, modern architecture, platform engineering, cloud/hybrid infrastructure, and engineering operating models
  • Experience leading technology in a franchise, multi-unit, or distributed operating model where headquarters enables independent operators
  • Strong grasp of IT transformation approaches, product/platform operating models, capital allocation and prioritization, financial and portfolio management and technology financial governance
  • Working knowledge of AI/automation strategy, cybersecurity and resilience principles, technical debt management, and emerging technology adoption at enterprise scale

  • Exceptional stakeholder influence and executive communication skills
  • Ability to build high-performing technology leadership benches and strengthen succession for critical roles
  • Ability to create clarity and alignment amid ambiguity while balancing near-term operational excellence with long-term capability building and innovation

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Technology Management, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Experience driving AI, automation, or emerging technology adoption in a way that improves operational performance and decision-making (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the multi-year enterprise technology strategy, ensuring short-, mid-, and long-term technology investments and capabilities directly enable business strategy, growth, and operating model evolution
  • Drive enterprise-wide IT transformation by diagnosing systemic constraints and root causes, then redesigning processes, systems, architecture, and operating models to deliver step-change improvements in speed, resilience, cost, and business agility
  • Ensure technology platforms, tools, and services delivered from HQ create clear, measurable value for franchisees while balancing brand standards and enterprise scale with franchisee usability, adoption, and local operating needs
  • Set the enterprise technology and IT operating model strategy, translating business priorities into coherent multi-year roadmaps, investment theses, standards, and capability plans that require substantial evolution of processes, platforms, and ways of working
  • Sponsor the evolution of technology delivery practices, platforms, and engineering capabilities as strategic levers for speed, quality, scalability, and innovation across the enterprise.
  • Shape an enterprise-wide culture of proactive partnership and “starting with yes,” elevating both the effectiveness and the strategic perception of IT with franchisees, business leaders, and internal customers through deliberate relationship systems and outcome ownership
  • Build and develop a high-performing technology leadership bench, coaching direct and extended leaders to operate at enterprise scale and strengthening succession for critical technology and business roles
  • Establish technology investment and portfolio governance, optimizing capital and operating investments across growth, efficiency, resilience, and long-term value.
  • Define and sponsor the enterprise technology partner and vendor ecosystem strategy, positioning key partners as extensions of capability that accelerate innovation, resilience, and competitive advantage
  • Own the enterprise strategy for emerging technology adoption - setting direction and operationalization approaches that improve decision quality, efficiency, service reliability, and business model innovation
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure technology risk, resilience, modernization priorities, and technical debt are managed as enterprise-level concerns while driving measurable transformation outcomes (cycle time, cost-to-serve, reliability, time-to-value)
