About The Position

First City Credit Union is seeking a strong leader to serve as the SVP/Chief Marketing Officer. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the credit union's strategic marketing plan in alignment with its overall strategic goals. The SVP/CMO is a strategic executive leader responsible for developing and executing the credit union's enterprise-wide marketing, brand, communications, digital engagement, member growth, and business development strategies. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CMO is a key member of the executive leadership team and plays a critical role in advancing the credit union's mission, expanding market share, deepening member relationships, and supporting long-term organizational growth. The SVP/CMO leads all aspects of marketing, branding, member acquisition and retention, public relations, digital marketing, community engagement, product marketing, and market research. This leader will oversee critical Sponsor and Select Employer Group (SEG) relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive marketing leadership experience
  • At least 5 years in a senior executive marketing role with financial services, banking, credit unions, fintech, or related industries
  • Demonstrated success leading brand transformation, digital marketing initiatives, and member/customer growth strategies
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, agencies, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and Board of Directors
  • Strong understanding of retail banking, lending, deposit products, and financial services marketing
  • Expertise in digital marketing, marketing analytics, CRM systems, marketing automation, and data-driven decision making

  • Master's degree (MBA or related discipline)
  • Knowledge of California financial services market dynamics
