About The Position

FIS is seeking an experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead the company's enterprise compliance function during a pivotal period as FIS scales its platform strategy, embeds artificial intelligence (AI) across its solutions and operations, integrates strategic acquisitions, and navigates a rapidly evolving global regulatory landscape spanning banking, payments, capital markets, and emerging financial technologies. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, with regular exposure to the CEO and other members of the Senior Leadership Team and the Board's Risk and Audit Committees. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, credible leader capable of setting compliance strategy at the enterprise level while remaining close enough to the business to drive practical, risk-based outcomes across FIS's banking, payments, and capital markets segments. This role is based at FIS's headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive compliance, risk, or related regulatory experience within banking, payments, capital markets or financial technology, including significant time experience operating at in large, complex, multi-line institutions.
  • Demonstrated breadth experience across both traditional banking and fintech/payments environments, including those involving digital assets and embedded AI. — candidates who have operated only within a single, narrow regulatory regime are less likely to be a fit for FIS's diversified business.
  • A track record of leading compliance transformation, including: modernizing compliance programs, technology, and operating models, and ideally including experience within a regulatory consent order, remediation, or comparable large-scale build-out.
  • Direct experience engaging with federal and state banking or payments regulators and/or payments regulators, with the gravitas to represent FIS credibly in regulatory settings.
  • Experience operating at the Managing Director / SVP-and-above level (or equivalent) at a bank, payments company, or fintech, with a reporting line into senior legal, risk, or executive leadership, with Board engagement.
  • A demonstrated ability to balance rigorous risk management with commercial pragmatism.
  • — comfortable Comfortable partnering collaboratively with technology and product teams building next-generation, AI-enabled financial infrastructure.
  • Exposure to emerging areas such as AI, digital assets, or real-time payments, or banking-as-a-service is a strong plus, reflecting FIS's evolving product footprint.
  • J.D. or equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required; relevant certifications (e.g., CRCM, CAMS, CCEP) are a plus.
  • Willingness to be based in or relocate to Jacksonville, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as FIS's enterprise Chief Compliance Officer, setting and implementing the vision, strategy, and operating model for compliance across all business products lines and services, including in Banking bankingSolutions, Paymentspayments, and Capital capital Marketmarkets, and other emerging financial technologies, as well as bringing enterprise oversight to a number of independently regulated entities.
  • Lead a global compliance organization responsible for regulatory compliance, consumer protection, financial crimes compliance (to include anti-money laundering, fraud, sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery and corruption, UDAAP/UDAP, and anti-trust as well as AI and data governance oversight)./AML, sanctions, consumer protection, and third-party risk, in close partnership with Legal, Risk, and business leadership.
  • Drive a multi-year compliance transformation agenda, including — modernizing compliance technology, data, and monitoring capabilities (including incorporating AI- and machine-learning-enabled surveillance, testing, and control automation);; simplifying and rationalizing legacy policies and controls; , and building a scalable, risk-based program suited to a large, complex, multi-jurisdictional fintech.
  • Serve as Compliance’s a primary point of contact for FIS's key regulators (including federal banking regulators, state regulators, and payments-specific regulatory bodies), managing the relationships proactively and representing FIS credibly in exams and inquiries.
  • Advise the Management Committee and Board on emerging regulatory risk, including evolving requirements around banking-as-a-service, AI, data, real-time payments, digital assets, and third-party/vendor risk relevant to FIS's bank and fintech clients.
  • Partner with business unitproduct and technology leaders to embed compliancetrust-by-design into new product launches and client implementations, balancing innovation with regulatory rigor, and client trust.
  • Partner with the Public Policy and Regulatory Legal teams to position FIS as a thought leader on key emerging and innovative areas, including representing FIS in industry engagements.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing compliance leadership team, and act as a visible culture-carrier for compliance and ethical business conduct across the enterprise.
  • Oversee compliance input into M&A due diligence and integration activity, given for FIS's ongoing portfolio of acquisitions and divestitures.
